Let’s break it down. Salaar raked in a whopping Rs 90.70 crore on its opening day, setting the stage on fire. The momentum didn’t waver, with a cool Rs 56.35 crore pouring in on its first Saturday. But hold on to your hats, because the real star power was unleashed on Sunday. Initial estimates suggest Salaar pocketed around Rs 61 crore, bringing its total earnings to a jaw-dropping Rs 208.05 crore. Now, that’s what I call a Christmas present!

Stellar Theatre Takeover

Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire dominated theaters nationwide on Sunday, with audiences filling up seats like it’s the hottest ticket in town. In the Telugu shows, the film boasted an impressive 73.64 per cent occupancy, while Kannada shows weren’t far behind at 65.01 per cent. Even in the Hindi belt, Salaar held its ground with a solid 48.27 per cent occupancy. Tamil and Malayalam shows added to the buzz with 31.88 per cent and 38.37 per cent occupancy, respectively, according to the film trade portal Sacnilk.

Advance Booking Frenzy

Joginder Tuteja, the film trade analyst, spilled the tea on Salaar’s box office magic. He tweeted, “Salaar is on fire in the Hindi belt! In the last one hour, the film sold 43k tickets. There is a 25 per cent growth today, and advance bookings are coming for tomorrow Christmas Day as well!” Looks like Santa delivered the right package this year!

Multiplex Marvel

National multiplex chains witnessed Salaar’s domination, selling over 18.84 lakh tickets from 12,681 shows. PVR chains and Inox chains were no exception, contributing over 1.89 lakh tickets (Rs 7.11 crore) and 1.45 lakh tickets (Rs 5.12 crore) respectively. Cinepolis chains added to the tally with 77,969 tickets worth around Rs 2.82 crore, as per film critic and trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

Christmas Day Extravaganza

As if Sunday wasn’t enough, Salaar geared up for a grand Christmas Day celebration. Advance bookings for the fourth day witnessed a massive surge, with around 6.15 lakh tickets sold for a whopping Rs 13.64 crore across 15,745 shows nationwide. Telugu and Hindi 2D shows led the charge with 4.13 lakh and 1.24 lakh tickets sold, respectively. Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil 2D shows followed suit, keeping the festive spirit alive.
